TOO Sick To Write Tonight

I had all the intensions to write about the Lady Gaga weekend. But I’m too sick to write for long. I’m too stuffed up to stay up and need some serious rest. But I’m hoping tomorrow I’ll be feeling better enough. Hope you guys are having a Happy V-Day!

In The City Lyrics: Garçon Garçon – Maybe Tonight Lyrics

The “Maybe Tonight” is the most hopeful of all the lyrics from the Beary Hot Aussie Duo Garçon Garçon which I want to share with you today. Of the three songs I’ve featured this week this one shows the most influences of greats like New Order, Depeche Mode and Pet Shop Boys with a The Smiths/Morrissey-isc thrown in for good balance. Additionally, below are some more silly images of Nathan Mahon  (vocals/guitar) and Nick Tsirimokos (synth/programming) for you to enjoy. Thanks to It’s The Money Shot and StereoBeatBox we can download the demo track for “Maybe Tonight” to enjoy while we wait for this summers' release of “EP” which sounds promising.

Maybe Tonight – Garçon Garçon

Maybe he’ll be out there
Tonight
Maybe he’ll be somewhere
Tonight

But if I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
No
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
Noooo

He’d never go
He’d never go
He’d never go
Away from me
No
He’d never go
He’d never go
He’d never go
Away from me
No

Maybe the stars will align
Tonight
Maybe he’ll know my name
Tonight

But if I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
No
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
Noooo

He’d never go
He’d never go
He’d never go
Away from me
No
He’d never go
He’d never go
He’d never go
Away from me
No

Away from me
Away from me
He’d never be
He’d never leave
Away from me
Away from me
He’d never leave
He’d never leave

If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
No
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
If I had a love
Noooo

He’d never go
He’d never go
He’d never go
Away from me
No
He’d never go
He’d never go
He’d never go
Away from me
No

Every where you look
Every where you go
Every where you follow
Even when you stop
Even if you go
No
Everything is up
Everything is hope
Everything is lust
Everything is not
Even when you try so

Maybe tonight
Maybe tonight

Take Me Out– Garçon Garçon

Take me out
Tonight
I am bored
And lonely
Help me out
I’m on
My own

Live so fast
Why don’t you
Die young
Slowly
It’s a curse
I see
The future

Fix me baby
I am broken
Empty
Sort me out
It’s you
And me

Never know
What happened
After
Before me
I don’t care
What you did
Then
I know
You now

Show me something
To believe in
Your Bag
Bag of tricks
I’m certain
Something’s up
Your sleeve

The world
Turns slowly
While you wait
Here for me
To decided
It’s you
And me

Tell me baby
Is this ordinary
You’re the one
It’s you
And me

Never know
What happened
After
Before me
I don’t care
What you did
Then
I know
You now

Show me something
To believe in
Your Bag
Bag of tricks
I’m certain
Something’s up
Your sleeve

In Broken Synths:
After before me
I don’t care what you did
Then I know you now
Show me something
To believe in
Your Bag
Bag of tricks
I’m certain
Something’s up
Your sleeve

Take me out
Tonight, ‘em
Take me out
Tonight, ‘em
Take me out
Tonight, ‘em
Take me out
Tonight, ‘em
Take me out
Tonight, ‘em
Take me out
Tonight, ‘em
Take me out
Tonight, ‘em
Take me out
Tonight

Never know
What happened
After
Before me
I don’t care
What you did
Then
I know
You now

Show me something
To believe in
Your Bag
Bag of tricks
I’m certain
Something’s up
Your sleeve

Take me out
Tonight
I am bored
And lonely
Won’t you
Help me
Out

Live so fast
Why don’t you
Die young
Slowly
It’s a curse
I see
The future

I see the future
I see the future
I see the future
I see the future
I see the future
I see the future

In The City Lyrics: Garçon Garçon – Stay In Touch Lyrics

The lyrics from the Beary Hot Aussie Duo Garçon Garçon are something of a challenge to find at the moment because like any new artists there isn’t much out there about them. Since I’m a bit of a lyrics junkie this was something I needed to share and also some silly images of Nathan Mahon (vocals/guitar) and Nick Tsirimokos (synth/programming) which are great. “Stay In Touch” is their debut single so I’m sharing this beautiful break up song first. So here you go!

NOTE: The lyrics below are the copyright of the artist and only presented here for reference purposes.

Garcon Garcon - Stay In Touch by thisisthemoneyshot

Stay In Touch – Garçon Garçon

I’ve been thinking something isn’t right
You don’t have to read my mind
I know this is the last time

I can’t take it back
I could never ask
I know
How long can we last
Before it’s over?

You take me on
Don’t leave me alone
Never far away
You make me love
You make it so
Hard
To ever let you
Go

You’re the type of guy
I can never find
I know
You don’t have to ask me
Why
You love me so, I
Never keep in touch
Never give enough
I know
You can keep it all
You can keep it all
So

Don’t make me cry
You’ll change my mind
Never far away
You make me love
You make it so
Hard
To ever let you go

Never took the time
To stay away
If I stay away

I tried
You tried
You tried
I tried
And failed

Let it go
Never go
Everywhere I go
You go

Now slow it down, you
Have to try, I
Never walk away
But I have to go
You don’t make me
Love forsake, I
Love you anymore

Stay in touch
Can we?
Stay in touch
Can we?
Stay in touch

Stay in touch
Can we?
Stay in touch
Can we?
Stay in touch

Stay in touch
Can we?
Stay in touch
Can we?
Stay in touch

Stay in touch
Can we?
Stay in touch
Can we?
Stay in touch

Ear Candy In The City: Garçon Garçon

Today my attention goes to the Land Down Under. No it’s not about the Australia Open that was last week. I’m tracking the chatter of music news Australia is causing in the blogesphere and it’s not being produced by Kylie Minogue.
Garçon Garçon is a pair of Hot Bears hailing from The Red Light Capital of Australia –Sydney's Kings Cross. This unsigned blog-sensation is composed of Nathan Mahon (vocals/guitar) and Nick Tsirimokos (synth/programming). The Beary Hot Aussie duo has definitely earned the coverage they have been receiving from sources like DNA Magazine but there is still not much information out on them. Their Facebook Biography states:
Combining new wave synths with a unique '80s feel and a dash of blatant pop, Garçon Garçon write intelligent songs with catchy hooks. Coming from different musical worlds of classical and punk rock, the duo conjure a sound as complex as it is podium busting.

The pair recently made a splash in the fashion industry, with Australian icon Peter Morrissey using GG's unreleased track, 'Do it right', to launch his acclaimed new collection during Sydney Fashion Week, gaining them international coverage.

Garçon Garçon are currently at Studio 301 recording their debut EP, due out 2011. They say it will "showcase both sweaty club anthems and sleazy electro pop treats - LA, Hollywood, hot summer nights, convertibles, the sunset strip".

To support this release, the boys have scheduled their first overseas dates for early 2011 across North American and Europe. Catch them before the world does.

Here is a taste from the official online premiere of Garçon Garçon's debut single "Stay In Touch"

The Arts In The City: Introduction (featuring Darick Maasen’s missing art & Kate Brooks’ Tahrir Square Cairo Egypt Images)

.
"Every artist was first an amateur."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
In case you haven’t figured it out, I have a new segment idea, because as always I’m always looking around for new art and artists from around the world mostly online. Local art news I look up on Art Circuits & Miami Art Guide because they list many of the great art museum and art gallery events in the South Florida area. We really do not have permanent fine arts museums here in Miami and really how many times can I go visit Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MoCA NoMi) & Miami Art Museum (MAM) during the same exhibit tour? Art Basel Miami Beach happens only once a year, and trust me December 1-4, 2011 can’t come fast enough for me. Gallery Night in Wynwood Art District (2nd Saturday of the month) and Gable Galley Night (1st Friday of the month) are gallery art walks happening only once a month in the area art galleries. Sometimes this Chubby Bear is in the mood for the arts and online art hunting I go. When I’m art seeing around the web I occasionally find some interesting works of art and unique artists which I will start to share in “The Arts In The City” hoping to make it a regular part of my blog. There will feature all kinds of art - performing arts, fine art, pop art, modern art, contemporary art, abstract art, photography art, new art, art design, and art crafts. Mostly sharing with you the art pictures that interest or speaks to me the most. But could be just me talking about my latest visit to NYC’s Metropolitan Museum of Art (TheMet) or Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) to the latest event happening at the Performing Arts Center or upcoming shows being put on by a Performing Arts Schools.

Today I was searching around looking at some things to improve my blog and researching topic ideas to write about when I bumped into something very interesting out of Chicago. Artist Darick Maasen (and friends) made the local news for building an 8-foot-by-11-foot igloo in his backyard with all the snow that has hit the area in the last few weeks. Then I found this interesting post on another blog Mike Mitchell’s Tumblr of Amazing Things! which happened to be about Darick Maasen's missing art. At which point I felt it was a sign and needed to reblog the post since he’s a cute Cubby Bear (albeit I’m not aware if he is gay or not; so don’t put words in my mouth). But I did find a Facebook picture of him with Andrea the Giant at Earwax which he wrote: “I'm just in the photo for scale...and to wear a bear mask...”. Below are a few images of his works that I enjoyed and wanted to share with you, as well as the re-blog of his missing art work.

Life-Size portrait of Andre the Giant by Darick Maasen
Those of you who know me know I'm kind of a Man's Hand Connoisseur and Darick’s hands as exquisite sample.
Please help this artist recover his art painting from the thieves by rebloging this post.

Now on to the image an image that really captured me while I was reading The New Yorker online this morning. Yes occasionally having the printed copy is not enough. It was featured on their “PHOTO BOOTH” blog which always has interesting images. This one from the post Postcard From Tahrir Square: Kate Brooks. It’s an overhead image of the anti-government demonstrators gathered to protest in Tahrir Square during Friday's prayers. You can read about and see more great images from Kate’s (and other photojournalists’) experience in Cairo in the “Postcard From Egypt” blog post.

Those are actual people praying. There is something so moving about this image in contract to everything else coming out of Cairo at the moment.

City Spotlight On The Hotties (Part 2 - Gerald McCullouch)

Today it’s “City Spotlight On The Hottie” which will included a broader type of guys, except the “Pocket Hotties” which are reserved for that special “City Spotlight On The (Pocket) Hottie” (guys of short stature, mostly those guys under 5’8”). As mentioned at the end of yesterday’s entry our spotlight is on Gerald “HardG” McCullouch who plays Roger the HOT DADDY Player from BearCity. He’s most know for is long time as his role as Bobby Dawson on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (or CSI: LasVegas aka The Original) and on E! TV as recurring guest of FYE!. The Irish-American Alabama native is an award-winning actor, director, screenwriter and singer [yes he has some pipes (mind out of the gutter guys!) playing the title role in the European tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar].

The “McSteamy Bear” (especially since he’s been embracing his HOT HOT HOT grey) is a 2010 honoree of OUT 100 with the likes of Ricky Martin (finally out!), Julianne Moore (my fav big screen diva for many years), Nate Berkus (WOOF! What a Pocket Hottie… maybe I’ll feature him soon?), Scissor Sisters (there is a triple helping of spotlighting there… hum more ideas), Alan Cumming (I love his great smile), Circuit Party Superstar DJ Tracey Young and others. Photographer Larry Fink did an amazing job capturing HardG’s essential sexiness during their session.

How cute is he in this one? Found on lasplash.com
